When we think about faith, we often picture the big moments—Noah building the ark, Abraham leaving his home, Peter stepping out of the boat. But if you read closely, those big leaps of faith were surrounded by a thousand small steps.

The truth is, most of the Christian life is made up of ordinary faithfulness: choosing to pray when you don’t feel like it, showing kindness to someone difficult, opening your Bible instead of your phone.

In Luke 16:10, Jesus said, “One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, and one who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much.” Faith isn’t proven only in the grand moments—it’s forged in the everyday choices that no one else may notice.

Think about David. Long before he faced Goliath, he was out in the fields, faithfully tending sheep and protecting them from lions and bears. It was in those hidden, ordinary moments that his faith grew strong enough for the giant.

Whatever you’re facing this week, don’t despise the small steps. God is shaping you in the quiet, steady walk of daily obedience. The little choices of today may be preparing you for the big moments of tomorrow.
